Salaam Alaikum, sisters!!


This month's contest will be about showing us your... Spectacular cakes!! Please provide a picture and a brief description of your creation! Submit your ideas by June 25, voting will take place the last couple of days of the month and a winner will be announced by July 1st insha'allah.


Winners will receive the prestigious MMC Top Chef award and have their creation displayed on the MMC Homepage! :hyper:

I had to make a small one. No ones eats my cakes but my dh and I, and Ayah of course. Sakeena said my cakes taste like the ones that come from the store :ohno: At least I know what I put in it.

Your last cake you posted here was blue wasn't it?! It looks very beautiful masha'Allah! I probably won't enter this one - I only make cakes for the kids and they are generally decorated with melted chocolate and M&M's and that's about it!

I usually don't decorate my cakes.... it's just for home consumption.... so usually I usually just pour chocolate ganache on them and then... yum !! LOL !!

But I do have a couple that I put a lil more effort... for my children's birthdays.... so I might put that up....

Do we put it up here or at the food contest ??... there's no thread in the Food Contest for June yet ....

btw, i took your advice, and my cake is better now. i sifted the flour, used cake flour, used whole milk instead of rice milk like before, used real butter instead of margarine from before. i think it looks quite tastey, but i wont eat any till i post the pic! just you wait and see, girl!

Oh my ! I've totally forgotten about this thread.

As I say... I don't usually decorate my cakes...
Just pour Chocolate Ganache on them, and my children will be happy :)
In any case... I won't have time to decorate before they want me to cut a piece, and another, and another for them ... and before I knew it... it GONE ! lol !!!

I did these two weekends ago for Camden's 5th birthday party (though he doesn't turn 5 until July 10, in shaa Allah. He wanted a party with his school friends, so we did it before school let out). He is totally into Superheroes right now, so it was a Spiderman cake theme.
