I was on another parenting board and found this discussion rather amusing...

DO YOU PEE while in the Shower ??

Who wouldn't ??????????? I can't hv water trinkling down my body, I will hv the urge to pee, LOL !! [smilie=singinrain.gif]
I get into the bathtup to shower (I dont hv the time to fill it up and hv a nice bubble bath)... so it will be a hustle to get in and out of the tub to pee !! [smilie=bolt.gif]

But to much of my surprise, many said they didn't pee while in the shower, instead they step out to pee and step in again !!!! [smilie=dizzy.gif]

Huh ??... Is it only me who peed in the shower ?? [smilie=bigblush.gif] or u gals does the same ??? [smilie=rolleyes.gif]

Honestly, I don't pee in the shower. I'm one who gets out, uses the toilet and gets back in again. I'm not gonna freak out if someone else pees in my shower, but I'd prefer if they aim it at the drain and not splatter it all over the tiles and shower curtain, & I'd want them to scrub the bathroom when they're done, lol. I don't want the shower to end up smelling like a urinal. Also pee stains tiles, so I don't want my white bathroom tiles to end up looking orange and brown. I guess I better get used to the idea of the shower being peed in because that's what children do when you're bathing them, especially boys.

Lol! Yep, my babies, especially the boys, do pee in the shower. However, the girls don't. Sometimes, I have to coax the little one to just let it go.....I don't want her to get cold getting in and out of the shower/bath!

Myself, when I was younger, yes I did! However, I stress I did, not these days anymore! I don't know, it just doesn't seem right! lol, so yes I get out too....and then get back into the bath/shower!

when i was pregnant if i had the urge which wa slike every 5 seconds to pee sometimes by the time i got out to go i would pee down my legs gross isnt hahahah so i said heck im in water their is a hole there lets just do it .

I can't believe I'm answering this but here goes... You all are going to know me better than some of my family members! I'm one of those with a weak bladder. I go before I get in the shower and usually immediately after getting back out, but something about that water hitting my skin that sometimes I absolutely can't get out and back to the toilet. So, I make sure I stand over the drain. LOL - I also clean my shower every day before I get out so I'm not worried about the cleanliness of it. And for a girl, I've got good aim! LOL!

Now, as far as hubby goes - I'm afraid to ask so I just clean after him, too.

Just hope that with your little boys that pee is the worst thing they do in the bath. Use your imagination on that one...

haha sis teresa youssef used to poo in the tub little sucker it was gross he thought it was hilarious he called them turtles look momma look turtles i would get so grossed out but hey i have to clean big people up if they do it in my job ( yes one of the glorious tasks of nursing wiping someones hinny not yuck ) so i have gotten quite used to the smell of doooooo pooooo vomit u name it gross sorry ladies had to tell u '

I am totally with you. I pee in the shower all the time. It is so unpractical to get out the shower when you're all wet. And it would be sooo cold! Even if I went before I got in, the water would probably give me the urge to go again anyway.

I want to ask those of you who think it's dirty: what is the big deal? You just go when the water is running and it goes right down the drain with the water. It's not like you shut off the water, pee in the back corner, then leave it there! (Now that would be gross!) The bathroom doesn't smell and you get clean immediately.

The thought of peeing in something white & ceramic & its similarity to a toilet-situation just crossed my mind in the past...but I try not to think about it.

It's true that even if you pee before getting into the shower that you feel the urge to pee while in there. It happens to me. I still get out, go use the toilet, then get back in again, lol. Btw, my toilet is in a completely different room from my shower, so I actually have to leave the room of the bathroom, walk down the corridor and head to the toilet...then back again.

I know that other ppl pee in the shower (heck I used to do it too sometimes while growing up in my parents' home) so I don't get grossed out at the thought of someone peeing in my shower. What I don't like about it is (1) pee stains tiles & (2) the smell which gets left behind. Women actually have a better aim than men, even though the men have something to aim with. Some people don't aim at the drainage hole, and it ends up all over the place, then they don't wash it down so the bathroom stinks. I've been in homes where from the time you enter the bathroom you can smell that ppl pee in the shower. That I find gross! I don't want my shower smelling like a urinal so I always peed in the toilet when I lived alone. I prefer the bathroom smell fruity and inviting.

And for the record, I don't clean the bathroom after each shower. I do scrub it thoroughly a few times a week, but not while I'm in it trying to clean myself, lol. I do all housecleaning (including bathroom), and then when I'm done I go take a shower. I really don't want those harsh chemicals which I use in the bathroom to touch my skin if it can be avoided, and to me that'll happen if I try to clean the bathroom while bathing.

Our shower doesn't have tiles, it's a solid one piece insert. So, when I clean it there's no chance of anything being missed. It's already gone down the drain. I clean the shower each time I use it because we have really hard water and if I don't then it's harder to clean later.

Ok toilet hoppers, I'm just not getting it. When you pee, it washes right down with the water. It is totally diluted by the water. It doesn't sit on the floor and stain tiles or make the bathroom smell.

What is the difference between pee and sweat and dirt and dirty feet touching your precious shower floors? Of course the shower floor gets dirty. It is going to be dirty whether you pee in the shower or not. I clean the shower a lot, not because I pee in it but because we use it to clean ourselves when we are dirty.

Nooooo, that is so not the same! Pee is liquid and mixes with the water and goes right down the drain. Poo is solid and.....wouldn't. At least I don't think it would. And I am not about to experiment with it.

I just don't think peeing in the shower is gross at all. But I am not offended if anyone thinks it is. Everyone has her own things that gross her out. Laylah, you're invited to my house any time....just don't use the shower, hehehehe.

I have to admit, I agree totally with Jen, it's gets washed down with the water anyway. However, I also do clean the bath every time it has been used. By that I mean that after all my kids and I have had a bath, I will wash it thoroughly.

Pee can stain tiles if a man stands and pees on the same one spot on the wall over and over again, and it's not washed throughly.

The smell stays if the pee isn't washed down throughly, especially if it was done and left unwashed by a man. Do you realize how stink male **** smells? It gets frothy too. If washed immediately, then there should not be a continuous underlying stench.

Pee is water with uric acid in it, so it doesn't gross me out. If I ever have to bathe in a shower that has been peed in by someone I know, or a visitor pees in my shower I won't freak out as long as it's being washed down. I don't think that peeing and pooping in the shower is the same though, even if the poo is in liquid form, lol.

Sis Nadine, I don't think that there's anything wrong with a backside (adult or infant) being washed in the bathroom after a poop, as long as it has been cleaned with at least some toilet paper first. Getting chucks of poo stuck in the bathroom is gross, lol. As soon as my children can stand I think it'll be easier to bathe them in the shower, and istinjaa is easier to do in the shower as well, but I'd wipe them with tissue first though, inshaaAllaah.

See this is the reason that I too am OCD (someone started a thread) about using others bathrooms. Yall are not helping the OCD people! LOL [smilie=13confused.gif] I HATE using other peoples bathrooms because you just dont know what goes on in there. I really dont believe that bathrooms are being disinfected each and everytime someone steps out. In my current household that is after 4 people two times daily. So if all 4 of us our peeing (cause why be selfish) 2x a day in the bath, that means the bath would be disinfected 8 times a day. I am a clean freak but thats even way too much for me. My bath gets cleaned 2x thoroughly per week and spot cleaned daily. Why cant you just use the toilet? [smilie=13confused.gif] [smilie=23icon_mrgreen.gif]

Oh and about the babies, I clean all the filth off of them with toilet paper and babywipes first and then I put them in the bath.

I don't think that I am 'OCD' , (or a cleanliness freak in my mind) but when you have children, just keeping up a basic level of cleanliness takes a lot of work! I don't think that my house would be on the top list for the most sparkling....but it is clean and hygienic and I never let it get into such a state that I can't get it sparkling within an hour or two (if I have guests coming over..... Also, there have been times when they have blocked the sink, (bathroom or kitchen) with vomit....and I didn't have time to grab a pair of gloves (that would have meant more vomit over me...), again I had to unblock the sinks......... [smilie=16icon_eek.gif]

Maybe it's just me....but I think when you have kids.....all these ideas of 'no way, I would never do that' go out of the window! That's been the case for me..(my dh starts gagging just about the same time as the kids do...so he's not any help at all.... [smilie=20icon_rolleyes.gif] )

Ok this has really perplexed me to the point that I started a thread on a totally different forum about this. lol Its split in the middle. One said that if anyone did number 2 in the shower the whole family is moving. lol My friend Casey asked her husband if he pees in the shower cause she thinks its gross too. Well he takes a shower and pees just to mess with her. She is all that is so nasty I gotta clean!!! Her hubby says well if that is all it takes is a little pee to make you clean then Ill pee all over the place! I have a bio-degradable cleanser that I use every time I shower. It disinfects and is not a harsh chemical cleanser. It's made by Melaluca and is something that doesn't make you sick to smell it. There are two different products that I use. One is called "No Work" and it's something that's sprayed on every day. The other one is "Tub & Tile" and it's the cleaner that gets used on a weekly basis when I clean. When Ron is done in the shower he sprays the No Work and then I go in and rinse it out later.

I don't use my shower as a toilet on a regular basis but if that's where I am then I'm not opposed to standing over the drain to do my "thang" if need be.

Well I do go to the bathroom before I shower. And you know its like your bladder is connected to the SOUND of running water. So 2 minutes later in the shower.. my bladder says "free me!" lol. It has been trained well "i am in bathroom must release... hehehe

Among these actions are urinating in water, urinating in the bath, relieving oneself in the shade or where people take shelter, and relieving oneself in the roads. Also, Imam Muslim reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah "Avoid the practice of the two things that provoke cursing: relieving oneself in roadways where people walk and in shaded places where people take shelter."

Considering the hygiene,I bath my kids with disinfectants& usually leave some water behind.The minimum time I wash the bath tub is once a week,otherwise,I dnt plan the'cleaning'.I could clean it 3,4,5times a day,depending on how dirty it is.There're just 4 of us&am the only one that cares what the bathroom looks like.And it's combined by the way.I didn't give myself the credit of keeping it very clean,until both my kids chose it as their'best play ground'.the door's easy to open.But,truly,I try to keep it clean & I do it without counting how many times.

As for the'Haram' part of it.I have heard before that we should not pee in the bathroom if we perform wudu in it.AM sorry I do not have the Hadith to back it up now.But it's something I've heard over&over again,back home & it kind of influenced me then.But some people aren't so lucky!Sharing bathroom with numbers of people (come to Nigeria,you'd see what I mean).
